Question from Mike: What do you consider the best Mac replacement for Quicken?
Jason answers: Well, there is Quicken for Mac. But it has received mixed reviews for the current version. See Intuit’s Quicken for Mac site for details. Personally, I’m using a web based service, called Mint.com that runs on Mac or Windows through your web browser. It comes with a lot of great insights and automatic downloads from many financial institutions. It works on your iPhone or Android based phone. You can access it with secure username and password from anywhere… And, it’s free!

I’ve heard that mint.com might be going away, so you may want to consider other options as well.
I’ve been using iBank for about a year now, and I am very happy with it. It does everything that my previous Quicken for Mac 2007 did, but much easier to use and more features. It is Mac Only and designed to take advantage of all the latest OS features.
Additionally, there is an iPhone App version that sync’s with the desktop or can be used standalone.
They are currently in Beta for Version 4.0 for the desktop software. Check it out at http://www.iggsoftware.com/ibank.
Wow, thanks for your answer and comments. I bought iBank and iCash and will test them out.

I just received this note from Quicken. Maybe it’s not Mint.com that’s going away, just Quicken’s online service…
