Hi Mac Users,
Looking at my news sites today, I came across the Mac community all abuzz about a piece of malware that can infect your Mac. I thought I would share some links with you to keep you informed.
TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog)
Remember, this malware is more like social engineering, it tricks you into installing this software and tries to get you to buy a bogus program. It is not exploiting a security hole in the Mac OS. This happens to Windows users all the time! Fortunately, it is much easier to remove and the TUAW articles shows you how to protect yourself.
Enjoy your day!

Thanks, Jason. I did not have this infection on my Mac, but appreciated hearing about it.
It often seems like something is running on my Mac that is using a lot of space/memory and so I also appreciate finding the activity monitor – that will help a lot!
Have you posted on good anti-virus programs? I’d be interested in knowing more about what you recommend.
Thanks again,
Judy
Hi Judy! We use NOD32 by ESET for the few Windows computers that we set up. They just released a Mac version. You can go to http://www.eset.com to take a look and download a trial. Intego makes a good product. http://www.intego.com. You need to make sure you keep these products updated though. They work at a system level and can sometimes cause instability or incompatibility as the OS is upgraded.
